Baker III Institute for Public Policyof Rice University, will start at 5 p.m. It will be held in the InternationalConference Facility of The Baker Building on the Rice campus.Qatar, a small nation located in the Persian Gulf, holds the third largestproven reserves of natural gas in the world, ahead of the United States. It is amajor supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Japan. The emirate also plays asignificant role in regional politics, with an active foreign policy thatinvolves not only close diplomatic ties to its neighbors Saudi Arabia and Kuwaitbut also ongoing dialogue with Iran, Iraq and Israel.Doha, Qatar’s capital, has been proposed as the venue for a major Middle Eastdiplomatic gathering this fall.The Baker Building can be reached by taking Entrance 13 off of RiceBoulevard. Once on campus, go through two intersections and then turn into theparking lot on the right immediately after the second intersection.
